Full Bathroom Renovation - Tonyrefail

A much needed update on this bathroom in Tonyrefail. A lot of prep work had to go onto this to get it to where it is today. The main issue with this one was that the exiting bath pipework went through the wall into a single story loft space to access the soil stack which obviously meant that in order to put a floor level tray in, I had to get into that loft space to be able to core through and make a lower connection into the stack. There was literally only about 10-15mm at most difference in height from the stack connection to the new tray waste pipe so I was very lucky to be able to get some drop on the pipework. As for the rest of the room, I had to self level the floor as it was all leaning to one side, core out for an extractor fan to be fitted, tear down the ceiling and re-board and move pipework around for the new position of the basin.

The walls were tiled with lovely tiles supplied from Rhondda Tiles in Tonypandy, and were absolutely spot on to work with, and we used a patterned tile of the same size for the shower area. I also added in a couple of little niches into the shower area for a “his & hers” storage space. The floor was laid with vinyl click lay tiles. The ceiling was cladded with PVC Matt White planks which make a nice low maintenance without looking like panels.

Full Bathroom Renovation - Caerphilly

Another wonderful full bathroom renovation recently completed in Caerphilly. We had the pleasure of taking on this job that had actually been originally quoted by a well known retailer (I wont mention for legal reasons) but the customer was concerned that they didn’t know how good the fitters would be. The client contacted me after seeing my Instagram page as all my work is posted there, and I was able to win the work.

A full strip out was carried out and all walls apart from one needed to be re-boarded and plastered, including the ceiling. All pipework was renewed and chased into the walls, I hate boxing in pipework it ruins the look. I had to level the floor out which for such a small space took 4 bags of self levelling!!

I then tiled the walls with gloss white tiles 25x40cms and grouted with BAL Micromax white grout and finished with genesis matt black tile trim. We went mad with all the matt black features on this bathroom but I think you’ll agree it really works with the white tiles, the herringbone natural look vinyl and the Egyptian Cotton walls.

Absolutely no stone is left unturned when it comes to my work and you’ll see that from the pictures below!

Full Bathroom Renovation - Radyr/Morganstown

Here is an absolutely beautiful installation I carried out for my clients in Radyr, Cardiff. This was a complete strip down and re-build with all new plasterboard and all pipework concealed in walls and under floor (I don’t like boxing in when I can help it). A stunning range of sanitary ware and wall tiles was supplied from Easy Bathrooms in Cardiff including matt black and polished brass taps, waste assemblies, basins and shower enclosure. The floor tiles were supplied by Topps Tiles, and the shower accessories from Victorian Plumbing.

Due to the hot water system installed in the property and a recent boiler replacement, I chose for the customer a Triton digital shower which I highly recommend for gravity fed systems due to reliability, ease of use and an easily concealable mixer unit. The client can now set their shower to an exact temperature, alternatively they can use the remote to turn the shower on and set it to temperature before even getting in! Amazing!

Other features of this stunning project are the towel radiator which can be used with both the central heating, or, electric during the summer months when the heating is not on, giving all year round warm towels! I also installed matching wall hung his & hers vanity basin units with storage and matching LED Mirror Cabinets with storage AND shaver/toothbrush sockets! Of course, to finish the job properly I upgraded their extractor fan, and installed matching polished brass ceiling spotlights.

En-suite Bathroom Renovation - Church Village

Here is a recent en-suite bathroom renovation I carried out in Church Village. The customer had kindly started removing the existing bathroom so the job was to make good the walls and floor for tiling and install the new tiles and suite. It was interesting to hear from the customer that other companies who had quoted the job, had told him that they wouldn’t be able to have the shower tray floor level because of the waste pipe fall, and also that they were going to tile onto a plywood subfloor! That is a big no in todays methods. Of course, I reassured the customer when quoting the job that it would be no problem having the shower tray floor level because I could adjust all pipework to suit under the floor. So I made good the shower walls and tanked them using aquadefense and tape (Mapei products).

The customer chose lovely grey 600x300 porcelain wall and floor tiles from Topps Tiles that were a pleasure to work with. I had to build studwork on one side of the shower enclosure as the new tray was slightly smaller so what better time to install a custom niche as storage for shower products, much better than shelves. The next challenge for this bathroom was fitting the 1400mm built in furniture into a 1350 gap which meant having to carefully trim the carcass and door of the unit to fit.

Once decorated the job was done and what a difference from the before and after pictures, scroll through to see more!
