FAQ

How long will it take to fit my new bathroom?
The time it takes to complete your bathroom renovation all depends on how much work is required. These factors include how much preparation is required, if plastering is needed, subcontracted electrical work and of course size of room and how much tiling is required. Tiling is the more time consuming element of a bathroom installation . I will always provide you with an estimated installation time when quoting the job.

How much will my new bathroom cost?
The cost of your new bathroom will depend on how much work is required and this will differ between every project. It can depend on the size of the room, the layout and if it requires moving around, the suite and tile choice, tile layout, and cost of materials and products. It can also cost more if for example plastering is required, or electrical work needs carrying out. I offer free no obligation estimates in Cardiff and the surrounding areas so get in contact for more information

Do you offer any warranty?
I offer a standard 12 month warranty on my installations. I can also offer warranty on products I have supplied. If you choose to supply your own products there will be no warranty for these so in the instance of a product fault you will be charged for replacement
-
Do you dispose of the waste products?
Yes. I will usually arrange either local Skip Hire or a waste disposal team to attend to remove waste. You can of course arrange your own waste disposal at your own cost
-
Can you supply the tiles and bathroom suite? Can I provide my own goods?
We are supply and install only, so I am afraid we do not install customer provided sanitary ware, furniture or tiles. Over the years I have been provided some pretty awful quality items that have usually been supplied from cheap online retailers such as Victoria Plum, Amazon and Ebay. We have been provided tiles from the likes of B&Q or Wickes which I would go as far to say are unusable as the quality/shape has been so poor even from the same boxes ad batches, which has a knock on effect on the overall finish of the job.
We supply our bathroom items from well trusted suppliers and retailers who we have built great relationships with over the years, and therefore provide us with exceptional service and high quality goods.
-
When do I need to pay?
For bathroom installation work, I do require a 30% deposit which must be cleared two weeks before the start date of the job. This payment is to cover all ordered items such as tiles and bathroom furniture.
I will usually require a smaller stage payment to be made half way through the job also, this is to cover materials costs that have occurred during the project.
I will then collect the remaining balance within three days of the completed job. I take payment by credit card, debit card or bank transfer. I do not offer “cash” deals.

How many years does a new bathroom last?
Impossible to predict, but we use all the methods of installation and protection to try and ensure your bathroom stays looking new for as long as possible. That said, It really comes down to how well you look after it. Over the years I have revisited repeat customers where jobs I have done years previously look like the day they were finished, and on the other hand I have been back to jobs months later where unfortunately they have not kept it clean and silicon and grout has discoloured, or products have been damaged from using acidic cleaning products or not dried after use and water damaged.
-
Can I use my shower or toilet during the renovation?
This is sometimes a tricky situation. Unfortunately in almost all cases, the shower or bath is completely out of use for the duration of the renovation so I ask that customers make arrangements to shower elsewhere, perhaps the gym or a neighbour/friends house. If your property has two or more toilets, I completely remove the toilet in the bathroom we are working on from day one so I have maximum space to work in. If the property has only one toilet, I would usually remove it during the day whilst I am working or tiling the floor for example, the re-instate the toilet for the evening so you can use it during the night. Unfortunately if you work from home, I ask that you make arrangements with a neighbour for toilet usage during the daytime as there are times I cannot re-instate the toilet for example when a floor is drying.
-
Are you insured against any damages?
I am fully insured with a well known provider to work in your property, I am more than happy to show you my insurance documents should you wish to put your mind at ease. In all my years of trading I have never had to make a claim
-
Will you keep my property clean whilst working?
Absolutely. I always use floor protection when working in your property as I am in and out constantly and I wear safety boots for my protection so these will not be removed. It is not always possible to contain !00% of the dust caused from renovation but It can certainly be contained as much as possible in just the room I am working in.
-
Can you tile over old tiles?
Its been said that you can with the correct products, but its not a job I would personally do. With tiling, it all comes down to the correct preparation to make the job a perfect finish, and I would not want to jeopardise my finish just because the prep wasn’t carried out my way. In all cases, I strip all old tiles off the walls and make good the wall behind by installing new plasterboard or cement board.
-
Will my water and heating be on whilst the renovation is carried out?
Yes, the majority of the time. Usually at the start of the job I may need to turn your water off for a few hours whilst I carry out my first fix plumbing, this also goes for the heating which may need to be off shortly whilst I change pipework for a new radiator. For the rest of the job the water and heating will be on for you to use when required, then finally I may need to turn it off again at the end of the job for a couple of hours to second fix
